Abstract
A purely peertopeer version of electronic vote would allow online votes to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a central voting register. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent doublevoting. We propose a solution to the doublevoting problem using a peertopeer network. The network timestamps elections by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hashbased proofofwork & proofoftally forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof chain. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of computational power. As long as a majority of computational power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, they’ll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proofofwork & proofoftally chains as proof of what happened while they were gone. AXIOMITY as the front end wallet, law creation & voting application holds XCP, BTC, VOTE, CONGRESS & uses them all in sync and combination with their respective blockchains. A VOTE token is sent by a legislation creation tool with combined cryptocurrency wallet. The VOTE is sent to a smart contract based election holding yay, nay and candidate addresses. The VOTE is returned to the voter after the election has ended due to a winning count or election time expiration. The voter is given a ProofofTally count for each VOTE given to any election showing it as an active voter with a corresponding ProofofTally count. This system allows legislation to be created, elections to be created and votes to be instantly counted, to implement instant legislation changes within the network.”

On Nov. 4, almost 35,000 people in New Hampshire turned out at the polls to register and cast a ballot. It was a record turnout for same-day registrations, but Secretary of State Bill Gardner said he has concerns there are not enough safeguards in place.
Despite repeated attempts by the legislature recently to require a valid identification at polls, all that’s needed to cast a ballot in New Hampshire is a signature swearing you are who you say you are.
Gardner said he believes that’s not enough.
“We’ve had two elections now with action taken by the Legislature overturned by the courts,” Gardner said.
Sen. Sharon Carson, R-Nashua, is drafting a pair of bills to address the issue. One would require someone to live in New Hampshire for at least 30 days before voting.
“We have a problem,” Carson said. “We have a problem with what Gardner called ‘drive-by voting’ — people coming here for the day, voting and then leaving.”
Sen. Lou D’Allesandro, D-Manchester, said he believes the effort is little more than sour grapes by a party that has failed to navigate what he calls the sophisticated process of getting out the vote.
“You get the data, you go to the people, you get them to vote — it’s a basic principle of the new politics,” D’Allesandro said.
Election oversight falls to the Attorney General’s Office, which said that while there are complaints under investigation, voter fraud is not an epidemic.
“There’s always a challenge when you have to balance the fundamental rights of voting with the state’s interest in making sure those who are voting are who they say they are,” said Assistant Attorney General Steve Labonte.
A case that could have an impact on the state’s voter eligibility requirements is pending in the state Supreme Court.”

Vote Coin is an open source voting system. It was inspired by bitcoin in 2012, and allows for citizens to vote for candidates with a transparent system.
What makes Vote Coin different from the traditional 70 year old voting technologies, is that Vote Coin is transparent to everyone and allows for voting from anywhere there is an internet connection. After the so-called elections are closed, computer savvy individuals will have public access if they desire to audit the chain of votes which will have unique hash IDs. This will make sure that all the votes are tallied legally, and accurately. The Vote Coin ledger will then be backed up, and published, so that it can be audited at any point in the future. No system is perfect, but with a free and open system citizens have the chance to improve on the technology.
When was the idea of cryptographic voting conceived?
Voting technology is a taboo discussion because many people do not want to jeopardize their jobs and stature by challenging the now archaic voting system. But discussions of a cryptography based voting system can be traced back to several discussion boards over the past 15 years. Recent Vote Coin concept:
Early in 2013 when bitcoin was starting to bloom and gain major mainstream attention, Charles Level started posting theories, ideological concepts, and starting various discussions about Vote Coin (votecoin VoteCoin©™ ). About 100 posts were made by Charles Level to Reddit categories, over the years, and several individuals and entities claimed to have created vote coin, and even started a sub category called /r/votecoin.
In 2014 a fictional person calling themselves “Steven Funk” perpetrated to create the idea of “Votecoin” and started a page on a so-called crowd funding site called Startjoin.com. This was not the first instance of VoteCoin being discussed. Our team has followed their so-called “fund raising campaign” but have not seen any credible mainstream evidence that their code was created or successfully implements.
